LEWT Early Bird Entries Continue
The Western Basin Sportfishing Association (WBSA) and Lake Erie Walleye Trail (LEWT) Early Bird entry period continues for the 2010 Crown Battery, Starcraft Marine tournament series until January 31st.
The LEWT is happy to offer installment billing for their Medina Plating Early Bird teams. Teams can pay for the first tournament in full through January 31st, and then get charged every two months after the initial sign up for the remaining 3 events. This allows teams to spread the cost over a period of seven months. The top finishing Early Bird team from each event will receive a $150 contingency courtesy of Medina Plating. “We thank Medina Plating for their continued support. This new contingency for Early Bird teams gives our anglers another way to win more with the LEWT. Someone at every event is going to walk away with this money” commented Matt Davis. “In these tough economic times we wanted to help our teams by not requiring a large sum of money well before the season started. This not only helps spread the costs out over the year but also makes them eligible to win more money at each tournament” continued Davis. In 2009 the LEWT paid out over 115% of the entry fees in payouts and prizes.
The 2010 LEWT schedule is as follows:
April 3 – Turtle Creek - Fenwick Marina
May 15 – Lakeside - Lakevue Marina “Sharpnack Ford LEWT” (Blow Date May 16)
June 26 – Huron – City Ramp (Blow Date June 27)
September 11-12 – 2 Day Championship Lorain - Black River Launch
The 2010 Gator Classic Pro Am will be held May 1 and 2 in Sandusky.
The WBSA is a Social based Club for fishermen and women that fish in the Western & Central Basin of Lake Erie and its tributaries. Membership is open to all fisher people no matter what their location. Our goal is to present information in a manner that will help sustain and improve fishing in one of the greatest inland sport fisheries in the world. Scientific information, fishing techniques, locations and presentations will be presented at our monthly meetings by expert and knowledgeable speakers and tournament anglers in our group. These anglers are very open with techniques and methods and will help any member that is trying to learn new methods.
