The weather held out for our second Champion of Champions Outreach Walleye tournament. Gary Zart with Jordan Kienzle aboard topped the field with five fish that weighed 24.36 lbs. Jordan also brought in the biggest walleye at 9.3 lbs. Steve Carlson with Casey Dimmerling took second with five fish weighing 19.94 lbs. Larry Woods with Jay Hardman took third with five that weighed 16.80 lbs. And Troy Swanger with Steffanie Brookens took fourth with five that weighed 14.2 lbs. Club members Marc Hudson, Dan Gies, and Joe Napaver rounded out the field with their kids.
The real winners were the kids. Not one of them had ever been on Lake Erie before or caught fish bigger then on Saturday. When Gary pulled that 9 pounder out of the box, all I heard from ever kid there "whoa look at that fish!!" I had to find Steffanie Brookens a cooler so she could take her 5 pound walleye home and show it to her mother. Great job everyone and thank you for your help and support, hopefully we made a difference in someones life.
