As of 1PM on Thurs May 13th we are at 44 confirmed entries. Looking for 16 more teams to reach the full field payouts. If we don't reach 60 teams we will issue a prorated payout schedule at the rules meeting Friday May 21 at the Huron Boat Basin.

Hope to see some WBSA members in Huron next week.

Guys ,
this is a very well run tourney and a blast to fish! Steve and city of Huron really go all out. I'm not really a tourney guy but the format of this one really makes it a FUN one! Extended forecast looks fantastic too!

Hope to kick all of your arse's :)

Another thing to look at is that the people that put this on www.fishhuronohio,com are great supporters of our club and without them the hugely expensive Walleye Central get together in the fall is made less likely to happen. Where do you think all that food comes from and the hall to have it in.

It's really not all that expensive when you share the costs between 4, 5 or 6 guys and you have decent odds of taking home some cash. You'll be supporting a worthy effort and having a good time as well! Remembr here is no hawg fest this year and this will be a good alternative to it!

After a terrible pre fish for most the fish cooperated for this one and there was great weather other than a spotty downpour that I just happened to be in. thank you Redneck for putting the top and curtains on for us. We would have stayed dry if not for having to set lines and catch fish during it.

The $100 contingency went to the winning team with Tom Scanlon being the qualifying member. I think they had over 47 pounds! Best program for the day for many was Reefrunners Us included!

Our guys did prety well. The details will be up on the fish huron site later today.

I had a blast. Hats off to Steve and the gang for putting on another very well run and fun tournament. We ended up in third, missing second by about a 1/4 of a pound. I now see why you don't bleed tournament fish! :) Congrats to all those that fished it and special thanks to Rick for fishing it with me. Him and Scott are top notch fisherman.

THANKS TO THE WBSA FOR SUPPORTING THE EVENT AND CONGRATS TO THE CLUB MEMBERS THAT WON SOME CASH!

Reef Runners ruled the leaderboard for the Fish Huron Ohio Spring Walleye Challenge held Saturday May 22. Gary Smith's Team "Up the River Gang" had a HUGE catch of 47.89# for their 5 biggest walleye worth $2,500 plus the WBSA $100 Contingency Bonus for having a WBSA member on the team. They reported their fish were caught on Reef Runners fishing in 32 feet of water between Huron and Vermilion.

2nd place and $1,800 went to the team from Cranberry Creek Marina who pulled worm harnesses for 43.72 pounds.

3rd place went to team "DaNutz" with 43.43 pounds good for $1,400

4th place went to Ron Gribble's Huron team "Budman" with 41.97# for $1,200. They also caught a 10.66# walleye which earned them another $500 as the "South Shore Marine" Big Walleye winner. Team Budman pulled their fish on Reef Runners in 30 feet of water.

5th place and $1,000 went to Matt Whitacre's team with 41.71#
6th place $700 Charles Robinson 39.08#
7th place $600 Gary Acierni "EYES ON" 36.38#
8th place $400 Virgil Tent "FishCrazy" 35.51#
9th place $300 Sean Boutin Rich Benoit Marc Bottone "CAROLINA GIRL / ENDTUITION / MY BONNIE"

2nd Big Walleye weighing 10.49# worth $300 was caught by Jim Clymer's "KATE & EYE" team on a Reef Runner.

3rd Big Walleye weighing 10.47# was caught by Curtis Yingling's team on a Reef Runner - and they won $150 worth of Reef Runners to add to their collection.

The weights were fantastic for a late May tournament with 5 teams weighing over 40 pounds for a 5 fish limit (18 teams had over 30 pounds) and 7 walleye over 10 pounds coming to the scales. All three of the Big Fish award winners caught their fish on Reef Runners. Teams that placed in the money reported catching their fish on Reef Runners and worm harnesses with more teams mentioning Reef Runners. We weighed a total of 1,304.33 pounds of walleye. The entry fee for the event was $200 which included entry to the big walleye pot. We paid out $10,700 in cash plus the $100 WBSA contingency bonus and the $150 Reef Runner Lure package. 57 teams fished the event. Full results are attached as a PDF
